zoom happy hour

Each Monday during interview season from 7pm-8pm (Eastern time) our residents will host an informal Zoom happy hour for all candidates who are scheduled to interview later that same week. This is an optional event for candidates to attend. You will be added to the social event on the Thalamus calendar which will be updated with the Zoom link.

Each happy hour will include any candidate who is interviewing with us that week and 4-8 of our current residents. They are resident-led and do not include any faculty or administration. We encourage candidates to view these as a replacement for our dinners and use this opportunity to socialize with our residents, ask questions, and get a feel for the overall vibe of our program.

This is a very casual event - do not feel that you need to dress up or even be ‘business casual’ in attire. Have a drink if you like, as it is a happy hour. You’ll be put into breakout rooms with other candidates and current residents as an easier way to fascilitate conversation. Come with your questions about the city, the program, etc. Nothing is too silly or too tough for you to ask.

Drop by for some of the time or stay for the whole thing - completely up to you. Usually breakout rooms are shut down by 8pm so that no one feels like they have to stay because everyone else is staying. All participants will come back to the main lobby and some residents will stick around if there are more questions, but please do not feel compelled to stay longer.
