I was introduced to the topic of neuroscience from a biology textbook in high school. It depicted the drawings of Ramón y Cajal. The intricacies of his illustrations of neurons were mesmerizing. They led me to become curious about the complex workings of the human brain. My interest in neurology is an extension of this curiosity. It’s a field that aligns with what I strive to achieve for in my career; I want to care for patients who are afflicted with neurologic disorders, learn about the pathophysiology of these diseases, and explore new therapeutics that can provide them with a better quality of life.
I am excited to be training at UMMC. The program offers a wide set of sub-specialties that I look forward to exploring. I am extremely grateful that the program places emphasis on residents’s education. The faculty, staff, and residents are very approachable and supportive. Training here allows me to see and provide care for patients from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
During my free time, I enjoy hiking, jogging, and eating take-out while binge-watching TV. I look forward to watching the World Cup this year. On my days off, I like to go museums and take strolls in new cities.
