I grew up mainly in Southern Illinois and South-Central Pennsylvania. While I was in high school, I began hearing more and more about the growth and innovations in the field of neuroscience and wanted to learn more. Soon, I began working with a neuropsychologist in both the clinical and research settings. There, I was introduced to the clinical management of a wide variety of patients with neurological disease and began to contribute to the scientific advancement of the field. I went to college to study Biochemistry & Molecular Biology to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying disease, but I always knew in the back of my mind that I wanted to become a physician — the first in my family. Throughout medical school, I kept feeling drawn to neurology. During this entire time, I had seen just how much the field of neurology had advanced and continued to be impressed by what was happening. Based on these events, I confirmed that I wanted to become a neurologist.

When looking at residency programs, I wanted to go to a high-volume academic center that had exposure to all the subspecialties within neurology. In addition, I wanted to be in a place with a strong sense of camaraderie between residents themselves and between residents and faculty. I found this all at UMMC and decided to come here to continue my training.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing piano, doing outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family. I'm looking forward to having new adventures in Baltimore!
