I grew up in New York City and then attended Carleton College in Minnesota. In college I was interested in biology, and then I became interested in neurology and neuroscience during my first neuroanatomy lab when I held a real human brain! I was fascinated with examining the brain and identifying the neuroanatomy. I became enthralled with researching neurodegenerative diseases and the differential diagnosis of neurological disorders. These experiences shaped my desire to pursue an MD/PhD and a career as a physician scientist. I continued my passion in neurology and neuroscience during my MD/PhD at Drexel University in Philadelphia, and I was excited to start neurology residency.

I initially became interested in the University of Maryland due to close proximity to family. But then I completed a neurology away rotation here as a 4th year medical student, and the program really stood out to me as exceptional. Every single neurology faculty member I worked with was truly dedicated to teaching, and all the residents were supportive and created a friendly community environment. This experience solidified my interest in attending this excellent residency program to further support my career goals as a physician scientist, and to serve the diverse Baltimore community.

Outside of work I enjoy running, biking, cooking, exploring, playing with my cats, and spending time with my growing family. I also enjoy board games, soccer, and ultimate frisbee.
