Nicole Hartmann

I chose neurology due to my own personal experiences - at age 15 I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Luckily, I have done very well and remain seizure free! Though when I got to know other people with epilepsy, I realized how the presentation of epilepsy and seizures really runs on a spectrum and no two cases are alike. I became fascinated by it and decided to pursue neurology to help others who struggle with epilepsy.  When interviewing for my residency position, I was drawn to UMMC for it's family-like environment, strong epilepsy program, and plentiful research opportunities. When I'm not at work, I'm usually hanging out with my husband and 2 kitty cats, trying to find a new brewery to check out and watching netflix. I also love to go camping and hiking with hopes of visiting as many National Parks as I can!
