Inpatient Neurology Consults

Neuroimmunology Consults Schedule 2025-2026

Below is the schedule for Neuroimmunology consultations for the academic year 2025-2026. Please contact the fellow (John Budrow or Hunter Mitchell) via Tiger Connect when a consultation is necessary. The fellows will only be available Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. Please save any night/weekend questions or requests until weekday daytime hours.

Note: These consultations are not an official, hospital sanctioned consultation service and do not provide billing/staffing. The MS/Neuroimmunology Division is making this available to assist colleagues in significant need of help/guidance and as an educational opportunity for the fellows/residents. Consultations should not be requested for any/all patients with neuroimmunologic conditions – only those that are exceptional, unusual, and/or require specialized expertise beyond the capacity of the primary team. These consultations will provide advice but will not be taking over care or other responsibilities for these inpatients.

Generally, consider that:

  1. We should not be called on every case of someone with a neuroimmunologic/neuroinfectious condition admitted to the hospital. Please apply standard of care to these patients.

  2. Please reserve these calls for unusual, refractory cases that require extra expertise beyond the standard of care for the condition.

  3. If you do contact us, please do so with a distinct/direct question, and not just a request to ‘follow the patient’.

  4. Please note that we have empowered our fellows to just answer the question without seeing the patient if it is a simple, general question.

  5. In most situations, we will not be able to join the care team for the patient and will have to simply answer your questions and move on.

  6. The MS/Neuroimmunology group holds a case conference on the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 11:30 in the Mayer Conference Room (and on Teams) 12th Floor Bressler. You are more than welcome to join us for this case conference and present patients you want the group’s feedback on. Feel free to reach out ahead of time to do so.
