My interest in neurology took a somewhat roundabout approach, as an unexpected introduction stemmed from a passion for sports medicine. Growing up watching sports (especially football), I was amazed by how players could take head-on collisions and spring right back onto their feet within seconds to continue playing the game. In medical school, I had a wonderful mentor who consulted for professional teams, and he happened to be a neurologist. While shadowing his work I saw the multitude of opportunities the field of neurology has to offer to a range of patients and pathologies, and I knew this was the specialty for me.

I was born and raised in Memphis, TN and moved across the state to eastern Tennessee for medical school. During my fourth year of medical school, I had the opportunity to do a sub-internship at the University of Maryland and I was in awe of the level of training the residents receive, and the mentorship and guidance from faculty members across the department. Even as a visiting student I felt so welcomed by the residents, fellows and attendings. I am excited to be back in this city engaging with and providing care for the greater Baltimore community.

In my free time I try to spend time outdoors going on walks and hikes. However, it’s more likely that you’ll find me exploring the vegetarian/vegan food scene in the area and dragging friends along to scope out new restaurants!
