Mohammad Abughanam

My journey in Neurology was really tough during med school and I never imagined myself as a neurologist, luckily after graduating my interest in Neurology grew while seeing multiple neurological patients and being able to localize different neurological lesions just by clinical examination.  

I’ve completed Neurology residency in Tel Aviv, Israel, in my final year of residency I joined UMMC for a one-year epilepsy research fellowship during which I had the chance to work with amazing people and it was an enriching experience despite being affected by the pandemic. 

Two years after my fellowship, I’ve decided to move to the U.S and I feel privileged to start my new career at UMMC. Being an international medical graduate, moving to Baltimore was a big step for me but it has been a really great experience so far, everyone is nice & it feels more like home. 

Outside of work, I enjoy playing video games, hiking & hanging out with my family, I’m looking forward to making new friends in my new career.
