I grew up in Dallas, Texas and studied biology at the University of Texas at Austin before moving back to Dallas for medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center. I chose to pursue neurology because I enjoy the puzzle-like clinical reasoning process and deep dives that are characteristic of this specialty. In addition, I find it meaningful to work with the parts of the body that are so directly related to a person's identity, providing the unique privilege to be a part of my patients' life stories.

I knew I wanted my residency to be a period of growth, which is why, in addition to moving out of state for the first time in my life, I sought a program that would provide high volume exposure to diverse populations and pathologies. This was what drew me to the University of Maryland, along with the incredibly kind people I have met and continue to meet here. I am looking forward to growing as a physician and as a person during my training here.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, drawing/painting, and crocheting. I also love all things nature, from hiking to foraging, and have had a lot of fun learning about the plants and wildlife in this region so far. I'm excited to explore Baltimore and the East Coast over the next few years!
