For me, neurology was love at first sight. It started with my first clinical rotation as a third-year medical student. I was fortunate to have attendings who were not only passionate about the neurosciences but were also compassionate physicians who inspired me to pursue this field.

As an international medical graduate applying to programs here, I wasn't sure what to expect. During the interview season, I met some wonderful people at different programs, but as soon as I interviewed at Maryland, I knew this would be my number one choice. Academically and clinically, it had everything I was looking for. However, what clinched it for me were the people I met and the program leadership. I wanted a rigorous program that was going to prepare me to be a competent and compassionate physician. And, I wanted to be surrounded by people who would support, mentor, and facilitate my professional growth.

Living and working in Baltimore has been a delight. I moved to the U.S. about two years ago after spending the last eight years in the United Kingdom, where I went to medical school. I feel very privileged to be in the position I'm in and serve the community here.
