Didactics Attendance Protocol

Our new method of tracking didactics attendance is now live. Most of you have already received your own personal QR code that has been applied to the back of one of your badges – this is what is scanned to record your attendance.

Our new protocol is:

  1. Whomever arrives first for didactics should go into Dr. Cronin’s office and get the phone (it lives on the back right corner of her desk). Even if she is not in her office, the door is unlocked and you can go in.

  2. There is a flyer under the glass of the credenza in the conference room. Unlock the phone (code is 0000). Make sure it connects to WiFi – you might need to sign into the Delta network or just use the umms-guest network – and follow the directions on the flyer (also listed here).

  3. Click on the CodeReadr app, click login, and choose ‘Didactics Attendance’. You’ll then scan the QR code on the flyer to initiate attendance for the day. This step only needs to be done ONCE in order to start taking attendance.

  4. Each person can then scan their own barcodes to record your attendance. The app will tell you if your scan has been successful. Note that attendance tracking can only be done starting 30 minutes prior to the start of didactics until 20 minutes after it begins – this is preset by the app.

  5. After didactics is over, please return the phone to Dr. Cronin’s office on the charging pad.

The app syncs with MedHub automatically. Attendance will then be used to deliver didactics evaluations for each session. A reminder that you are expected to attend at least 80% of didactics sessions (excluding time on those rotations marked as exceptions: night float, vacation, etc.).

If you are attending didactics virtually, you can send a picture of the QR code to someone to scan or put it in the chat on Teams, or email Brooke and tell her that you’re attending virtually. Keep in mind that any of these options still need to happen within the same time constraints as what the app allows for in person.
