I love living here in Maryland, my hometown! Growing up, I’ve noticed that Maryland offers so much diversity, whether that’s the culture, food, or sceneries/landscapes we have in Maryland! There’s always something to explore, like the local park (Patapsco State Park is great!), restaurants (Lebanese Taverna, Akira Ramen, & Maiwand Grill), and activities (Smithsonian museums, art galleries, Baltimore aquarium). I especially love painting landscapes/wildlife, which I’m often inspired by the beautiful woods, lakes/rivers, nature trails, and arboretums here. I chose to stay in Maryland to complete my residency because of these hidden gems and the supportive, nurturing environment at UMMC. The Neurology department has been especially wonderful throughout my experience in medical school as well as residency. The seniors are available to help, teach, and are outstanding role models. The attendings are also dedicated to teaching and great to work with! It feels like a big family as we all grow and learn together. I look forward to spending my residency here and honing my skills in Neurology!
