I developed an interest in neurology through my undergraduate studies in basic neuroscience at Vassar College. This interest continued to develop as I worked at UPMC in Pittsburgh in a lab studying the neural circuits underlying itch and pain in the spinal cord. After a few years I made the decision to pursue medicine and neurology was an easy choice. I’m excited to be training at such a large, busy trauma-oriented hospital in order to gain experience in the cross section of neurology and critical care. The hospital serves a population in need and allows us to see a diverse, extensive pathology.
My interests outside of work include cycling, which I incorporate into my daily routine of commuting to the hospital from my awesome neighborhood, Hampden. I rent an amazing row home with my two cats Frank Pepe and CiCi and am working on building a garden in the back yard to grow my own vegetables. I’m obsessed with film and am excited to explore the independent film scene in Baltimore.
